College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences tree planting Day at Kanyariri Vet Far oNovember 2013.

This was an event planned and organized by the College in an attempt to conserve the  Environment.The college Principal professor Agnes Mwang'ombe led the event in which 5000 seedlings were planted. Scout Patron Dr. Kironchi was also presents and participated in the event.

COLLEGE TREE PLANTING DAYS FOR THE 1ST SEMESTER. 2013 NOVEMBER


Tree planting at College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (CAVS) will take place at three Sites.The University of Nairobi Ngong field station, Kibwezi Dryland station and Kanyariri Vet farm. The total of seedlings to be planted will be 7500.
Kibwezi Dyland field station
1000 seedlings will be planted on 15th, November, 2013 along the Kibwezi river as means of conserving the Kibwezi river. Students to participate in the activity.
 
CAVS Vet Farm, Kanyariri
Along the river as boundary,students and staff will participate in the activity. 5000 seedlings will be planted on 20th, November, 2013
Ngong Forest Station
CAVS students, staff and Ngong local community will participate in the activity of planting 1000 seedlings on 23rd, November, 2013. As part of community outreach, 500 medicinal seedlings will be given to the local community.

C.A.V.s Rover Scouts Tree Nursery Project

Saturday 16th November 2013 University of Nairobi Collage of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences Rover scouts have planned to work on their tree nursery project where they are expected to transplant 3000 seedling from three nursery beds, The event is set to start from 9.00am to 12noon at field station Lamart demonstration plot all are welcome.

Ngong Hills Hike

Having been invited by the Kenya scouts Association C.A.V.S Rover Scouts took part in the above named event which was a success as members learned various survival skills,Hiking techniques ,team building spirit etc

ECOBANK CANCER CARAVAN

College of Agriculture & Veterinary Sciences Rover Scouts having been invited by Eco Bank  management to lead a Cancer Walk from Kenyatta National Hospital to Central Park Nairobi am hereby pleased to report that it all went well and the crew did some recommendable job and we appreciate all that were part of the Caravan. We also thank the administration for all the support offered to the group in terms of transport and moral support offered.

KENYA LIMITED ECHO CHALLENGE TROPHY.

College of Agriculture & Veterinary Sciences having worn the Silver Trophy (Kenya Limited Echo Challenge Award) by taking part in various Tree planting activities we are proud of this and As  C.A.V.S  Rover Scouts group we are working on projects to ensure that we bring the Gold trophy next year at C.A.V.S as we are the best Agriculturalists in Eastern and Central Africa, Share your opinions and ways in which we can achieve this goal.

  • Investiture of New  Members payment in progress, 200/= for membership cards ( investiture date is on 18th October)

  • First Aid Training (Early November (4th), members to register by paying 1000/=)
  • Eco bank Cancer Walk (KNH to Central Park On 5th October)
  • RRI tree planting (C.A.V.S) 25th October
  • Community Service (Clean Up and visit to an orphanage home)
  • Motivational Talks (Nairobi School 4th October).
  • State house function on 20th October (Full Scout Uniform) Aim SERVICE.

U.O.N   C.A.V.S ROVER CREW MEETING HELD ON 16TH SEPTEMBER 2013.
